Chrom Perfect Chromatography Data System

Version 5.5.6 now available!

April 2008

Justice Laboratory Software, the leading independent supplier of chromatography software,  announces the latest release to Chrom Perfect the world's leading chromatography data system.

Version 5.5.6 of Chrom Perfect marks one of the most significant software revisions from Justice Laboratory for many years and is packed with new features and benefits for chromatographers.

A Host Of New Instruments Supported

In addition to a variety of HP/Agilent instruments, Chrom Perfect now offers full instrument control of the Trace 2000, Varian 3800, and Varian 4900 Micro GC.

Many Program Enhancements

1) Improved Graphical Component editing

  •  Greatly improve graphic component editing now allows user to change even more component information graphically using a couple of simple mouse clicks.

  • There is a new Component List with Editing and Nudge Feature. The user can highlight some or all components and “nudge” the retention time up or down based on the increment selected.

2) New Advanced Chromatogram Scaling Features

One of the difficulties with auto-scaled plots is that solvent peaks dominate the scales, shrinking the smaller peaks of interest to the point of invisibility. Now, in addition to the three familiar plot options (manual, autozero, autoscale) there are three more:

  • Autoscale, ignoring the first N peaks in the chromatogram

  • Autoscale, ignoring the largest N peaks in the chromatogram

  • Autoscale, applying a user-specified limit (in the selected plot units)

These autoscale features can be applied;

  • Automatically from the chromatography method file

  • Manually on screen in the "Analyze" program

  • Specified in the report format

3) New "open" button appears throughout the software

There is a new kind of button, in many places, always next to a field that may contain the name of another file. Press the [OPEN] button and the file named in the field is opened for editing.

The features saves a great number of mouse clicks and allows the user to quickly change parameters in an associated file while keeping the master file accessible.

4) Improved Automated File  Management

Now users may copy files to multiple target directories. With the previous version of CPAutoCopy files from different instruments could be automatically copied to different directories. Now other attributes of the files from one instrument can be selected (i.e. the Method) and send to different directories.

5) COMPLETE Analysis Files

Justice Laboratory Software's unique "Bound" File structure was introduced in 1988 and revolutionized data management and archival as it allowed the user to store the ENTIRE ANALYSIS rather than just a series or data point stored as raw data.  This meant that years later the analysis could be reproduced exactly as it was performed using "bound" calibration and method files.

The "Bound" file concept has undergone even further enhancements with version 5.5.6 as report format files now stored in the bound file along with raw, method, calibration, integration and other chromatographic data.  The report data may also be pulled out of a Bound file, viewed, edited, and saved as a new stand-alone file. Simply choose File-Open, press the Format file button, and specify a Bound file name.

6) PDF Support Extended

One of the main new features in Version 5 of Chrom Perfect was the native support for PDF files and the ability to share Chrom Perfect Data, plots and reports in this common and popular format.

The "Print to PDF File" feature has now been extended across even more area within the software in version 5.5.6
