Large User Training program for Chrom Perfect®

August 2001

Justice Laboratory Software, the leading developer of Chromatography Data systems software for the science-based industries, recently conducted a user training session for their customers in Borealis, Swedish plant.

Chrom Perfect chromatoghraphy software trainingIn 1998 Justice Laboratory Software installed Chrom Perfect® Spirit, chromatography data system at the Borealis laboratories in Provoo Finland, Stenungsund Sweden and Sines Portugal. The software and hardware systems installed are connected to the gas chromatographs in the laboratories to acquire, process and transfer chromatography data to the LIMS systems.

JUSTICE LABORATORY SOFTWARE are proud that Borealis were the first European organization to install the 32bit Chrom Perfect® Spirit system for their chromatography data handling requirements. Systems were installed through three core cracker sites in 1998-99 and the systems have been used extensively since then.

Over the past four years Borealis have shown a continued commitment to Chrom Perfect® and in line with theirChromatography laboratory instruments policy of investing in staff training and development, requested that an on-site training seminar be performed at their site in Sweden.

JUSTICE LABORATORY SOFTWARE offer a number of training courses offered to users at both customer sites and specialist locations to ensure users fully implement the many powerful new features of the system. Companies who have attended such events have recognized significant cost benefits in terms of lower user support costs, reduced operational errors as well as increased productivity, laboratory throughput and quality of data reporting. User have commented that they are more confident in using the system and are more productive in their daily work.

Software training class"Myself and a colleague attended a Chrom Perfect® user meeting in St Andrews, Scotland last year. This course I attended was focused on system administrators and 'power users' and was very helpful in my role. After internal discussions it was decided that a similar event held on our site would be beneficial to our staff that perform the daily analysis and data processing. After contacting Justice Laboratory Software, they were happy to perform this service which took place in September 2002.

Since the completion of this course we have notice a marked improvement in the general understanding of the features of Chrom Perfect® with in this group. Not only have we recognized a marked decrease in internal support overheads but users are showing a proactive approach to using the new features of the system. This new initiative has had a marked effect of productivity and throughput in the laboratory".
