Sasol USA Chooses Chrom Perfect®

Justice Laboratory Software are pleased to announce that a leading global manufacturer has chosen Chrom Perfect® for their chromatography data acquisition, analysis and reporting. Sasol North America, headquartered in Houston, Texas, is an integrated producer of commodity and specialty chemicals employing approximately 800 people.  The company produce a wide array of chemicals used in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and consumer manufacturing industry.

After a detailed evaluation of leading chromatography data management products, Sasol have installed a number of multi-user Chrom Perfect® Spirit systems. The company was recently asked what were the major factors which influenced their decision:-

1) Improved integration with existing laboratory and enterprise systems;

"Chrom Perfect® Spirit interfaces with our LIMS system to queue the GC and to enter data directly from the instrument to our LIMS system."

- Rod Hammons, Sasol USA

2) The ability to install a common software and data acquisition platform for multiple users and instrumentation;

"We currently have one system that has approximately 30 GCs connected to one server with 15-20 usersand we also have a smaller setup with 9 GCs connected to another server with approximately 15 users of that system."

- Joseph Pawela, Sasol USA

3) Features which improve data handling, reporting and data management, offering measurable improvements in laboratory performance;

"Chrom Perfect® Spirit offers more dynamic integration options than other chromatography software. In addition the system also is able to capture additional chromatography data through the reports that were not available with other systems. These additional functions have helped improved our troubleshooting capabilities."

- Rod Hammons, Sasol USA

"We had problems obtaining consistent baselines with other chromatography software. The Chrom Perfect® integrator and integration events worked together to give us consistent and stable baselines."

- Joseph Pawela, Sasol USA

"Through the flexible format reports we are now able to sum compounds over a specific time range through the CSUM function.
"

- Rod Hammons, Sasol USA

4) Enhanced instrument control and integration of chromatography data directly to existing network infrastructure;

"It is easy to connect Agilent 6890® gas chromatographs to the server through Chrom Perfect® Spirit software."

- Joseph Pawela, Sasol USA

"With other chromatography software packages we were unable to fully utilize all of the functionality of the Agilent® 6890N. Through Chrom Perfect® we are able to utilize the full functionality of the Agilent® 6890N"

- Rod Hammons, Sasol USA

Sasol are just one of the multinational companies that have come to rely on the power and flexibility of Justice Laboratory Software's products.  In a market where instrument manufacturers and other third parties are producing products which are increasingly proprietary and inflexible, only Chrom Perfect® offers the real alternative  cross-platform chromatography data management system which uses STANDARD chromatography instrumentation, computing hardware and networking infrastructure.

Justice Laboratory Software's George Schriener was closely involved during the design, planning and installations of the system at Sasol:-

"Sasol are another corporation with demanding requirements that can detail benefits and measure improvements from the unique features of the Chrom Perfect® solution.

In an increasingly competitive market,  the production, management and reporting of laboratory data is paramount and this data must be integrated within an existing IT and informatics infrastructure.

Chrom Perfect® works within the customers systems -  they do not have to work in within ours!" -

- George Schreiner, Vice President Of Technical Development, Justice Laboratory Software

After the successful implementation and installation of Chrom Perfect®, an interview was conducted with Sasol to investigate the companies overall level of satisfaction with their new system.

"Through Chrom Perfect® improved integrator, integration events and reporting formats our laboratory has been able to achieve greater reliability and data acquisition that has improved our overall performance.

"Sliced bread doesn’t have anything on Chrom Perfect®"

- Joe Pawella, Sasol
