Why Auxiliary Files Are Missing
Chromperfect can generate several different file types at the end of an analysis, including reports, graphics, and data exports. However, if calibration files or formatted report files are missing or misnamed, the system cannot produce the expected auxiliary outputs.
This typically happens if:
The calibration file or report format file was moved, deleted, or renamed.
The file path entered in the method setup is incorrect.
Security settings or user profiles are misconfigured.
How to Fix the Issue
Follow these steps to ensure Chromperfect produces all auxiliary files and Chromperfect auxiliary files missing
1. Check Your Method File
Open the File Editor from the main menu.
Select the method file and review the Processing tab.
Confirm that the calibration and report format files exist and are correctly referenced.
2. Update Missing or Incorrect File Names
If the file paths are wrong, browse to the correct location and select the proper files.
Use the Open button to verify that the files exist and can be opened successfully.
3. Run a Test Analysis
Start a test run from the Run program.
After data acquisition, check the Traffic program (taskbar stoplight icon) to confirm that files are being generated.
4. Use Search Directories for Reliability (Recommended)
Open the Profile Editor from the main menu.
Add your commonly used method and report directories under Search Directories.
Chromperfect will automatically locate files, even if you don’t specify full paths in the method.
If security mode is enabled, remember to configure search directories for each user.
Best Practices to Avoid Future Issues
Keep calibration and report format files stored in a consistent, accessible directory.
Set up search directories in your profile for easier file management.
Double-check file references whenever creating or editing a method.
Regularly back up important method and format files.
