Chapter 2.2 – Raw vs. Bound Data Files
Part of Section 2 – Files and Method Fundamentals
About this video
In this chapter of the Chromperfect Beginner Training Series, we explain the difference between raw data files and bound data files, and why both formats exist within the Chromperfect system.
Raw data files store the original acquired signal directly from the instrument, preserving the data exactly as it was recorded during acquisition. Bound data files, on the other hand, combine the raw data with the associated method and processing parameters, creating a self-contained file that ensures consistency and reproducibility during analysis and reporting.
Understanding the distinction between raw and bound data files is important for maintaining data integrity, supporting reprocessing workflows, and ensuring that chromatographic results remain consistent across different users and systems.
