Installing Chromperfect with a fingerprint license provides a reliable alternative to USB key licensing, particularly for environments where USB access is restricted by company policy. Instead of requiring additional hardware, the fingerprint license uses a virtual code tied to the workstation, making it both secure and simple to manage.
Why Use a Fingerprint License?
Many organizations prevent the use of USB devices for compliance or IT security reasons. In these cases, Chromperfect fingerprint licensing allows users to install the software without any physical dongle. This method ensures that users retain full access to Chromperfect features while remaining compliant with company IT policies.
Installing Chromperfect with a Fingerprint License
If Chromperfect is not yet installed on your computer:
Run the setup.exe from your distribution media or download link.
Accept the licensing agreement and follow the on-screen instructions, selecting the default options.
When prompted for a license file, choose “This is a demo.”
Once installed, launching Chromperfect will show a warning that a license is required.
Generating the Fingerprint Code
To activate the system:
Open the directory C:\Chromperfect.
Locate and run cpfinger.exe.
Press the button displayed in the program — a five-digit fingerprint code will appear.
Send this code to your Chromperfect representative by email or phone.
Applying the License File
After sending your fingerprint code, you will receive a license file via email, normally named in the format:
cp32vx.ver — where x is the version number of Chromperfect.
For example, cp32va.ver applies to Chromperfect Version 8.
To apply the license:
Save the file to your hard drive.
Copy it into the C:\Chromperfect directory.
Restart your computer.
At this point, Chromperfect with a fingerprint license is fully activated and ready to use.
