Chromatography Data Analysis Video about Annotations in Chromatography data system

Adding notes, or annotations, to chromatograms is a useful way to highlight important details directly on your data. Chromperfect allows annotations to be added in both the Run Program (during acquisition) and the Analysis Program (post-acquisition).

Add Notes to a Chromatography Plot During Acquisition

In the Run Program:

  1. Select Plot → Annotation → Add Item.

  2. The operation assistant will guide you to click on the chromatogram where the note should appear.

  3. Enter your text in the box provided, then press Enter to place the note.

Notes added during acquisition are stored as original data and cannot be modified in the Analysis Program.

Editing Existing Annotations

In the Analysis Program:

  1. Choose Plot → Annotation → Edit Item.

  2. Select the note to be changed.

  3. Move its position or edit the text in the text box.

  4. Press Enter to update the plot.

Deleting Plot Annotations

To remove a note:

  1. Select Plot → Annotation → Delete Item.

  2. Click near the note you wish to delete.

  3. Confirm and the note will be removed.

Customizing Fonts and Colors

Annotations can be customized for clarity and style:

  • Right-click the plot and choose Properties, or go to Plot → Properties.

  • Use the Font and Color tabs to adjust annotation style.

  • Apply changes to a single plot or select Apply to All for multiple open chromatograms.

Conclusion; Add Notes to a Chromatography Plot

Being able to add notes to a chromatography plot provides valuable context and makes chromatograms easier to interpret and share. Chromperfect gives users the flexibility to create annotations during acquisition, edit them afterwards, and style them for clear communication.
